Last week, EZY attended the the World Aviation Festival in London. The event is a must-go for airlines and aviation partners with a unique opportunity to listen, interact and learn from industry leaders.
A few of the takeaways from the conference includes;
- NDC; IATA has now committed to getting 20% of indirect bookings through NDC channels by 2020.
- UI/UX; “Design is not a beauty contest” (stated by the Lufthansa Group) and should be about servicing customers and increasing the experience for guests across all channels.
- Ancillary Revenue; there is a huge opportunity to increase revenue beyond the seat by utilizing passenger data to achieve dynamic pricing, personalized offers and targeted sales as well as to introduce non-flight ancillaries such as hotels (easyJet talked about their latest version of their holiday initiative including easyJet now contracting directly with hotels).
- Agile processes; several airlines mentioned agile processes as a key to success within technical development using a “test and learn” methodology. United mentioned combining IT and Business teams to increase deliverables.
